Brooklyn to Chicago, wisdom, Neil, etc
I used to give up something for lent when I was a kid. This year, I decided to take on meditation. I’ve always done some meditation but have always thought my practice could be much better. A week in has revealed to me that this is not for sissies. At the same time, by entering into this realm, I feel like my intention is strengthening in a subtle way… still a lot of work to do with this though.
I’m heading to Chicago this weekend to play with Karl Mullen at the Chicago Irish Film Fest. I’ve been diving into his music and am looking forward to visiting Chicago again. http://www.chicagoirishfilmfestival.net/home.html
It was great to reunite with Luther Wright again this past weekend. Jason Mercer and Benny Cha Cha Rubin and I were the ‘Wrongs’ and we did our best to live up to that notion…
I’m sending love and healing to many friends who have been recently laid off. It is challenging, and I’ve even had some challenges finding work this year, and working as a nurse is supposedly one of those which is not as affected. But I feel it, and it’s tough. Maybe one of these years rock and roll will work out… ‘out on the weekend, trying to make it pay, can’t relate to joy’ thanks Neil Young, you pretty much hit it on the head.
peace, friends!
